How did the fuel tank and fuel line look? That almost looks like the bowl has sand in it, from what the photos are showing.

I’m really curious to know what those deposits are - but at least you’re getting to the bottom of the matter. Nothing like a good carb cleaning, rebuild, and sync to help one feel triumphant over the machine.

I rebuilt the carb bank on a ZRX 1100 once, the bowls had orange debris in them. I was scratching my head for quite a while (there was nothing like it in the tank or fuel lines) until I realized the carb bowl o-rings had been sealed with the assistance of RTV. I was a bit grumpy cleaning all the bits of RTV out of the o-ring channels.

“Nothing like a good carb cleaning, rebuild, and sync to help one feel triumphant over the machine.”
Mere words cannot convey how right that statement is. Something i never would have imagined untill i up and did it. That “1 kick start” after a proper cleaning and tune just feels like total and utter victory.
